The identical twins forward their autographs on letterhead of their
film studio. Rare signatures!
Typed Letter signed: "Ray Boulting", "John Boulting", 1 page,
8x10½. Charter Film Productions, Ltd., Lower Regent Street [London],
1939 May 22. On company letterhead to Miss Joan Eyre, Derbyshire, in
full: "We have great pleasure in signing ourselves as per your request.
Yours very truly". RAY BOULTING (1913-2001) and JOHN BOULTING (1913-1981)
were British film makers, who acted almost interchangeably in producing,
directing and screenwriting roles. They produced serious dramas, such as
Graham Greene's Brighton Rock (1947), but also satirical comedies,
such as I'm All Right Jack (1957). Many famed actors, including
Richard Attenborough, Peter Sellers and Terry-Thomas, started out with the
Boultings. Roy Boulting, who was married to Hayley Mills (1971-1977),
co-produced a wartime document, Tunisian Victory (1944) with Frank Capra.
He also directed the Miss Marple mystery series for the BBC.
