ROY ORBISON The popular singer and songwriter signs an agreement with the William Morris Agency in 1978 Document signed: "Roy Orbison", 8½x11. No place, 1978 November 11. In full: "which I give you notice as aforesaid shall be deemed to have expired in normal course of the Effective Date of Termination and that all of your and my respective rights shall be the same as if there has been a normal expiration as of that date. Except as hereinabove specifically modified and amended, all terms and conditions of said Agreements shall remain in full force and effect. Very truly yours," Signed by Roy Orbison and agreed to and Accepted by the William Morris Agency. Texas-born Roy Orbison (1936-1988) helped usher in the 1950s' rockabilly sound while at Sun Records. In 1960, he left Sun and released his first million-seller, the haunting "Only the Lonely". Enormous success followed with tunes including "Crying", "In Dreams" and "Oh Pretty Woman", which sold over seven million copies. The reclusive, operatic-voiced singer, who was known for his trademark shades and black clothing, enjoyed a comeback in the 1980s, winning a Grammy Award for "That Loving You Feeling Again". Orbison later recorded the albums The Traveling Wilburys and Mystery Girl, the latter released posthumously in 1989. Two filing holes at the top of the page. Pin head size black mark at lower center. Otherwise, fine condition. Authenticated by Roger Epperson.
