Photograph inscribed and signed: "To Louise/Many happy trails/Roy Rogers". B/w, 8x10. A founding member of the Western music group, Sons of the Pioneers (1934), Rogers (1911-1998) broke into films as a singing cowboy the following year. Beginning in 1938, he had starring roles in dozens of Western films. His horse was Trigger, his frequent sidekick Gabby Hayes, and his frequent co-star Dale Evans, whom he married in 1947. He starred in his own TV series (1951-1957). A devoted husband and father, Rogers was also a successful businessman with wide-ranging holdings, including a TV production company, a restaurant chain and many Western products. Lightly creased at corners. Ink note (unknown hand) on verso (no show through). Fine condition.
