Roy Rogers signs a document with the William Morris Agency to retain them for a period of two years.
Carbon Printed Document Double Signed: "Roy Rogers" in ink on last page and "R.R." on first page, 2p, 8½x11, front and verso. Beverly Hills, California, 1968 June 2. Contract between Rogers and the William Morris Agency. Rogers engages the Agency as his exclusive agent for two years "to negotiate for and with respect to the furnishing, sale, transfer, assignment, lease, license, use, and otherwise turning to profit, or other disposition in all fields and media, anywhere throughout the world...all creative properties and package shows now or at any time during the term thereof...." Also signed by a representative of the William Morris Agency, Inc. A founding member of the Western music group, Sons of the Pioneers (1934), Rogers (1911-1998) broke into films as a singing cowboy the following year. Beginning in 1938, he had starring roles in dozens of Western films. His horse was Trigger, his frequent sidekick Gabby Hayes, and his frequent co-star Dale Evans, whom he married in 1947. He starred in his own TV series (1951-1957). A devoted husband and father, Rogers was also a successful businessman with wide-ranging holdings, including a TV production company, a restaurant chain and many Western products. Lightly creased, near but not touching Rogers' signature. 2 file holes at upper margin. Staples at upper left corner. Overall, fine condition.
