ROY ROGERS Color lobby card of Roy Rogers' 1951 film In Old Amarillo Lobby Card signed: "Happy Trails/Roy Rogers". Color, 14x11card for Republic Picture's 1951 film In Old Amarillo. A founding member of the Western music group, Sons of the Pioneers (1934), Roy Rogers (1911-1998) broke into films as a singing cowboy the following year. Beginning in 1938, he had starring roles in dozens of Western films. His horse was Trigger, his frequent sidekick Gabby Hayes, and his frequent co-star Dale Evans, whom he married in 1947. He starred in his own TV series (1951-1957). A devoted husband and father, Rogers was also a successful businessman with wide-ranging holdings, including a TV production company, a restaurant chain and many Western products. Margins and corners worn and chipped. Tack holes at corners and center margins. Lightly toned and soiled. Otherwise, fine condition.
