From the mid-1920s to mid-1950s, RUDY VALLÉE enjoyed a successful career on radio, in movies, in Broadway musicals and with a solo nightclub act. The first singer to be called a "crooner", he was known for carrying a small megaphone. CHARLES WICK (1917-2008) served as the director of the United States Information Agency under President Reagan from 1981 to 1989.He is responsible for launching the first live global satellite television network. He is also credited with establishing a number of radio programs within the USIA, including the Voice of America's Radio Mari broadcasting to Cuba.
