Outfielder Russell "Russ" Derry (1916-2004) played for the New
York Yankees (1944-1945), with shorter subsequent stints with the Philadelphia
A's and St Louis Cardinals. A left handed hitter, he filled a platoon role
for the Yankees, appearing mostly against right handed pitchers. He
starred for Rochester of the International League, leading the League in
homers in 1949 and RBIs in 1950, and making the IL Hall of Fame. Fine
condition.
