Nice to hear from you again." American satirist and humorist RUSSELL BAKER
(1925-2019) wrote his "Observer" column for "The New York Times" from 1962-1998.
He won a Pulitzer Prize for Commentary in 1979 and the 1983 Pulitzer for Biography or
Autobiography for his autobiography, Growing Up. STELLA K. HERSHAN, born in
Vienna, Austria, the author of a number of books and articles, wrote two biographies of
Eleanor Roosevelt: A Woman of Quality - Eleanor Roosevelt (1970, likely the book
mentioned in this letter) and The Candles She Lit: The Legacy of Eleanor Roosevelt
(1993). Stray ink mark above the "r" in Baker. Light paper clip impression at upper left blank
margin. Fine condition.
