Autograph letter signed "Ruth Thomas". 1 page, 5¼x7, 1 sheet folded. March 29, 1947. In full: "Dear Mr. Gilbert, Your pupils and I spent a very interesting afternoon together and I enjoyed myself immensely. I would love to talk to your group, perhaps a week from next Wednesday if that is convenient for you. The question is, just what would like me to base my talk on? A bit of information about this would help me greatly. Could you give me some sort of brief outline? I shall expect to hear from you against shortly. Sincerely,". Thomas was a stage actress with 11 plays, mostly musicals and comedies, between 1920 and 1950. Her credits include small parts in As the Girls Go (1948-1950) and in the Broadway premiere of Bertolt Brecht's The Threepenny Opera (1933). Lightly toned. Staple and pinholes at top edge. Random ink stains. Folded once and unfolded. Otherwise in fine condition.
