Autograph Note Signed: "S D Griggs", 5½x2¾
lined sheet. In full: "It is NASA policy not to carry covers on board
flights". S. David Griggs (1939-1989) was mission specialist for
Discovery STS 51-D, which flew April 12-19, 1985. During the
flight, Griggs conducted the first unscheduled space walk of the space
program. He was in training as pilot of Discovery STS-33 when he died
in the crash of a vintage WWII airplane. Lightly creased. Irregular top edge
nips 1 letter. Fine condition.
