Oscar-nominated actor Sal Mineo signed this document in 1964 to amend his contract to appear in the 1965 movie Who Killed Teddy Bear?.
Document Double Signed: "Sal Mineo" and initialed "SM" in blue ink. Also signed and initialed by the president of Phillip Productions, Inc. in blue ink. Blue and black ink corrections and strikeouts in unknown hand. 2 pages, 8½x10, with 8¼x2¼ rider, all on thin paper. Dec. 8, 1964. Addressed to Mr. Sal Mineo c/o Tom Korman Associates, New York City. This document amended a contract that Mineo signed to appear as Larry in the movie Who Killed Teddy Bear?. At the age of ten, stage and screen actor Mineo (1939-1976), born Salvatore Mineo, Jr., was cast as a child in The Rose Tattoo on Broadway. At age 13, he took over the part of Yul Brynner's son in The King and I. By the time he was 22, Mineo had been nominated twice for Best Supporting Actor Academy Awards in Rebel Without a Cause (1955) and Exodus (1960). In 1976, the 37-year-old actor wasstabbed to death as he returned to his Hollywood home from a play rehearsal. Lightly toned, creased and rippled. Document has light tears along left edge and light discolorations in bottom right. Light hole torn near bottom right corner of page 2. First page has staple holes at bottom left edge. Rider is folded once and has staple holes along left edge and irregular edges. Otherwise, fine condition.
