Document Signed: "Sal Mineo", 1p, 8½x5½. No place, 1959 March 30. Headed: "Twentieth Century-Fox Film Corporation/Employee's Personnel Statement". Mineo, who gives his age on his last birthday as 20, has filled in personal information, including his address (in New York), date of birth and emergency contact. In 1959, Mineo made two feature films: A Private's Affair and The Gene Krupa Story, in which he starred in the title role. In November 1959, he appeared as himself on an episode of The Ann Sothern Show. At the age of ten, stage and screen actor Sal Mineo (1939-1976) was cast as a child in The Rose Tattoo on Broadway. At age 13, he took over the part of Yul Brynner's son in The King and I. By the time he was 22, Mineo had been nominated twice for Best Supporting Actor Academy Awards: Rebel Without a Cause (1955) and Exodus (1960). In 1976, the 37-year-old actor was stabbed to death as he returned to his Hollywood home from a play rehearsal. Lightly creased, slightly soiled. Ink notes and check mark (unknown hand) at upper right margin, pencil note (unknown hand) at "Department" line, pencil check mark at lower right corner. 2 file holes at upper margin. ¾-inch diagonal tear at blank area to left of first file hole, ¼-inch tears above both file holes. Otherwise, fine condition.
