Incorporating titles of three of his Academy Award-winning songs, the lyricist writes to William Van Buskirk at the upper right on the photograph, in full: "I am most grateful for all the praise and I send this along so you won't CALL ME IRRESPONSIBLE! Just call me SAMMY CAHN. With High Hopes! All The Way!" Lyricist Sammy Cahn (1913-1993) won Academy Awards for Best Song for "Three Coins in the Fountain" (1954), "All the Way" (1957), "High Hopes" (1959) and "Call Me Irresponsible" (1963). His Emmy came with "Love and Marriage" (1955). Among Cahn's many other songs are "Let It Snow" and "Come Fly With Me." Often collaborating with Jule Styne, he was a principal songwriter for Frank Sinatra. He is enshrined in the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Lightly creased at edges. Small ink mark at right blank area. Fine condition.
