Sammy Cahn sends a typed letter of holiday wishes and to relay his plans for the New Year.
Typed Letter signed: "S" [first letter only, followed by typed "ammy"], 1p, 5½x7¾. Beverly Hills, California, 1974 December 21 Saturday. To "Dear M & M-". On personal note letter. In full: "Would you believe that your letter dealing with Morrocco and dated Nov. 11th, made it to address bottom right this morning? Better late than not at all! I must say that I kept looking for you to make the London scene but one of these days I hope to do the show in Los Angele (At the Huntington Hartford!) and maybe then you can find your way to the theatre and really get a 'kick' out of seeing what you saved for the world! Mainly this is to wish for you both all the good things of Hannukah (sic) and Xmas and Tita and I will be back in Palm Springs with the 27th to spend New Years Eve in Palm Springs with the Annenbergs and then back to Bev Hills to take a cruise with the Al Parvins and then rest in L.A. until, the National tour of the show is finalized. Have Happiness and Health and above all LOVE! Tita joins, ----," Lyricist Sammy Cahn (1913-1993) won Academy Awards for Best Song for "Three Coins in the Fountain" (1954), "All the Way" (1957), "High Hopes" (1959) and "Call Me Irresponsible" (1963). His Emmy came with "Love and Marriage" (1955). Among Cahn's many other songs are "Let It Snow" and "Come Fly With Me." Often collaborating with Jule Styne, he was a principal songwriter for Frank Sinatra. He is enshrined in the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Lightly creased. Fold crease not near signature. Fine condition.
