SAMMY HAGAR. Photograph inscribed and signed: "To/Richard/Sammy/Hagar". B/w, 8x10 overall, image 7x7¾ (one surface). Publicity photograph by E.J. Camp for Geffen Records. ©1994, Geffen Records, Inc. Captioned at lower margin. In 1994, Hagar appeared on the TV special, Elvis: The Tribute, and his song, "Rock Candy" was part of the soundtrack for The Stöned Age. Singer, guitarist and composer Sammy Hagar, born Samuel Roy Hagar in 1947, followed in his father's footsteps as a boxer before joining the Southern California hard rock scene. He was the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist for the hard rock band, Montrose, before embarking on a solo career. Hagar, who had hit songs with "Your Love is Driving Me Crazy" and "I Can't Drive 55", then joined Van Halen (1985-1996), contributing to four of their multi-platinum albums. After parting ways with Van Halen, he formed his own band, The Waboritas, and Hagar also toured with several members of Van Halen. Hagar and The Waboritas released an album, Livin' It Up, in July 2006. Lightly creased at upper left blank corner, light black mark at lower right corner. Minor surface creases (not evident head on). Fine condition.
