Spear" in black ink. Sepia, 8x10.For years Sammy Spear
(1909-1975) played trumpet for NBC house orchestras until he was finally
given his chance to conduct his own band in 1949 on Cavalcade of
Stars. Performing as Sammy Spear and His Orchestra, the group
later became the house band for Jackie Gleason: American Scene
Magazine (1962-1966), The Jackie Gleason Show (1966-1970)
and The Do Deluise Show (1968). They also had cameos on The
Honeymooners in the 1970s. Bowed, Creased throughout. Corners worn.
Small surface scratches and tears. Toned. Otherwise, fine
condition.
