On'/Production Account". Payable to Samuel Goldwyn, Jr. for $750,
endorsed by him on verso: "Samuel Goldwyn, Jr." The Heat's
On is the book that producer Goldwyn's 1972 film, Come Back Charleston
Blue, was based on.
Samuel Goldwyn, Jr. (1926-2015) continued in his
father's footsteps, making films like Cotton Comes to Harlem (1970),
Mystic Pizza (1988) and Master and Commander (2003). Several of
his films, such as The Preacher's Wife (1996), have been remakes or
tributes to films made by his father. Goldwyn, Jr. said this of his dad: "With
every picture he made, my father raised the money, paid back the bank, and kept
control of the negative." Endorsement stamp touches the "Sa" in Samuel on front.
