Number Four of the Targ Editions published in Greenwich Village in New York City, December 21, 1979, limited to 350 copies signed by the author. Saul Bellow (1915-2005) received the 1976 Nobel Prize in Literature "for the human understanding and subtle analysis of contemporary culture that are combined in his work." The works of the Canadian-born, Jewish-American novelist, short story writer, essayist and playwright include Dangling Man (1944), The Adventures of Augie March (1953) and Humboldt's Gift (1976, Pulitzer Prize).
