SCAVENGER HUNT MOVIE CAST
Actors James Coco and Roddy McDowall sign on this black and white still from the 1979 comedy Scavenger Hunt
Photograph signed: "Roddy McDowall", "Best Wishes/James Coco". B/w, 10x8. JAMES COCO (1929-1987) earned an Obie for his stage performance in The Moon In Yellow River (1959) and starred in several plays by Neil Simon and Terence McNally. Coco starred in two short-lived TV series of the 1970s, and he was a popular guest star, winning an Emmy for a guest appearance on St. Elsewhere (1983). Coco's films included Man Of La Mancha (as Sancho Panza, 1972), Murder By Death (1976) and his final role in That's Adequate (1990). He was nominated for a Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for Only When I Laugh (1981). The arrival of London-born RODDY MCDOWALL (1928-1998) in Hollywood came when he tested for the juvenile lead in Fox's How Green Was My Valley (1941), winning both the role and a long contract. McDowall's first adult acting assignment was as Malcolm in Orson Welles' 1948 film version of Macbeth. The actor spent the better part of the early 1960s playing Octavian in the mammoth production Cleopatra, co-starring with longtime friend Elizabeth Taylor. An accomplished photographer, McDowall was honored by having his photos of Taylor and other celebrities frequently published in the leading magazines of the era. McDowall's most frequent assignments between 1968 and 1975 found him in elaborate simian makeup in the Planet of the Apes theatrical films and TV series. Shortly before his death, the Academy of Motion Pictures named its photo archive after him. Fine condition.
