Connery, who has appeared in a number of feature films, is best known for his James Bond series, beginning with Dr. No in 1962. Connery next played the dapper secret agent in From Russia With Love (1963), Goldfinger (1964, the film that made him a superstar), Thunderball (1965), You Only Live Twice (1967, when he first swore he was through with the role) and Diamonds Are Forever (1971) before briefly returning as Bond in 1983's Never Say Never Again. Among Connery's other feature films are The Great Train Robbery (1979) and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989, for which he was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor for playing Harrison Ford's father).
