Autograph envelope unsigned. 9x4. Postmarked Muilleann Cearr,
County Westmeath, Ireland, June 13, 1933. Addressed in O'Casey's hand to the
Editor of Irish World, New York City. One 2p green-and-white stamp
affixed. Irish dramatist O'Casey (1880-1964), who lived in England from
1926, wrote on social and political themes. He won acclaim - and criticism -
for his early Dublin trilogy, The Shadow of a Gunman (1923), Juno
and the Paycock (1924) and The Plough and the Stars (1926), which was
set during the 1916 Easter Rising. Soiled and creased. Normal postal stamps,
which touch address. Torn open at right edge. Otherwise in fine
condition.
