Photograph signed: "Warmest/Regards/Sebastian Cabot". B/w, 5x7. Sebastian Cabot (1918-1977), was born in London, and began his acting career on the British stage, but he is best known to American audiences for his roles in two television series: Checkmate (1960-1962), playing Carl Hyatt, and Family Affair (1966-1971), on which he endeared himself to audiences as a "gentleman's gentleman", Mr. Giles French. Cabot, who first premiered on American television in 1954 on Studio One, would later star in or host several series, including Suspense (1964), appear as a guest star in other series, including Gunsmoke, Climax!, The Twilight Zone, My Three Sons, Mr. Ed and McCloud, and star in several made-for-TV films, including 1973's Miracle on 34th Street (as Kris Kringle). After appearing in bit parts in films from 1935-1944, Cabot starred in a number of features, including Othello (1946), Ivanhoe (1952), The Captain's Paradise (1953), Romeo and Juliet (1954), Kismet (1955), Westward Ho the Wagons!, Johnny Tremain (1957), The Time Machine (1960) and Twice Told Tales (1962). He would also do voice work for a number of Disney animated productions, including The Jungle Book (1967, voice of Bagheera), and the narrator of several Winnie the Pooh films. Slightly creased at corners. Pencil note (unknown hand) on verso (no show-through). Fine condition.
