The 2-time Olympic Gold medalist warms up for a race in this 3½x5 photo.
Photograph signed: "Sebastian Coe". Color, 3½x5 overall, image 2x4½ (one surface). British runner Coe was gold medalist in the 1500 meter and silver medalist in the 800 meter at both the 1980 and 1984 Olympics. In 1981 he set world records in the 800- and 1000 meters, the former enduring until 1997 and the latter still unbeaten. In his retirement Coe entered politics and was elected to Parliament as a Conservative in 1992, serving until 1997. As head of the bid to host the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, Coe served as chairman of the London Organising Committee for the Olympic Games. In 2012 he was inducted to the International Association of Athletics Federations Hall of Fame, and in December of that year he was presented the Lifetime Achievement award at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year.
