Photograph signed: "Moynihan". B/w, 5x7 overall, image 4½x6 (one surface). The scholarly
yet colorful Daniel Patrick "Pat" Moynihan (1927-2003), a Democrat who also served in
Republican administrations, was U.S. Ambassador to India (1973-1975) and to the U.N.
(1975-1976), and he served four terms as a U.S. Senator from New York (1977-2001). He
was succeeded by Hillary Clinton, who had announced her candidacy at a news conference at
Moynihan's farm in July 1999. It was Senator Clinton who announced the death of the
76-year-old Moynihan on the Senate floor on March 26, 2003. Minor surface defects (not
evident head on). Fine condition.
