Inscribed Picture Post Card signed: "John Cox/with best wishes/from Set Svanholm/[Illegible] London May 1969" B/w 3½x5½. Swedish operatic tenor Set Svanholm (1904-1964) made his operatic debut as a baritone singing the role of Silvio in Pagliacci in Stockholm in 1930. He went on to become a regular performer at the New York Metropolitan Opera (1946-1956), the Vienna State Opera (1938-42), and The Royal Opera House in London (1948-57). Svanholm was also director of the Royal Swedish Opera (1956-1963). Lightly worn at edges. Otherwise, fine condition.
