5½x3¼. Sey Chassler (1919-1997) was a writer and editor best known as the editor in
chief for the women's magazine Redbook for 16 years, and for his advocacy of women's
rights. In 1976, Chassler spearheaded an effort to publish articles concerning the equal
rights amendment in women's magazines across the country. He was able to get the article
published simultaneously in 36 different magazines. Three years later he was successful in
getting articles published in 33 additional magazines. Chassler was one of the founding
members of the Child Care Action Campaign, and became heavily involved in the
operations of several other women's interests groups including the National Women's
Political Caucus, the Abortion Rights Mobilization, and the Institute for Women and Work
at Cornell University. Lightly toned. Otherwise, fine condition.
