SHOCK MOVIE CAST: VINCENT PRICE and LYNN BARI
Vincent Price and Lynn Bari sign a black and white publicity photograph of a scene from their movie Shock.
Photograph signed: "Vincent Price" and "For a fine student -/Hard work has its rewards!/Sincerely,/Lynn Bari". B/w, 10x8. Scene from the 1946 thriller in which Price plays a psychiatrist treating a young woman who is in a coma, induced when she witnessed a man killing his wife. When she awakens, she realizes her doctor is the killer. Bari is his nurse/lover whom he urges to help kill his patient. A master of the horror genre, VINCENT PRICE (1911-1993) starred in such spine-tingling films as House of Wax (1953), The Fly (1958), The Fall of the House of Usher (1960), The Pit and the Pendulum (1961) and The Abominable Dr. Phibes (1971). The actor, also a veteran of Broadway, stage and serious films, was also a noted art expert and collector. Price frequently lectured on art and published several books on the subject. LYNN BARI started her career as a chorus girl in Dancing Lady (1933). By 1938, she had graduated to strong supporting roles in A pictures and became the queen "B" in the B's, frequently appearing as "the other woman". Some of her most notable work includes Hollywood Cavalcade (1939), Kit Carson (1940), Blood and Sand (1941) and Hello Frisco, Hello (1943, one of her best "other women" turns). She also worked extensively in early TV, mostly in live drama. Lightly creased. Light surface nicks. Overall, fine condition.
