Sid Caesar will be a 'guest star' on 'Perry Como's Kraft Music Hall...October
12th, 1960 air-tape on October 7th for $25,000.00 plus 5% thereof on account of
AFTRA Pension and Welfare Fund". Also signed: "Harvey B.
Sindle" as Assistant Secretary of Roncom Productions. This
contract was with Como's production company, Roncom. A writer and regular
performer on TV's live Your Show of Shows (1950-1954), comedian
Sid Caesar (1922-2014) hosted a series of shows bearing his name for another
decade. He earned an Emmy Award for Best Actor in 1952, and the following
year Caesar and Imogene Coca were voted Best Comedy Team in a poll by
"Motion Picture Daily". Caesar's autobiography, Where Have I Been?
(1979), documents his subsequent struggles with pills and alcohol, but he has
continued to appear in cameo roles in films, such as Vegas Vacation
(1997). Caesar, who was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Actor
(Musical) in 1963 for Little Me, is also a composer and saxophonist.
