He accepts a commitment to appear on TV's Perry Como show in
1960.
Carbon Document signed in ink: "Sid Caesar", 1p, 8½x11. New
York, N.Y., 1960 August 17. He promises to fulfill the obligations incurred
in an agreement of the same date between Shellrick and Roncom Productions,
regarding his appearance on the Perry Como Kraft Music Hall on October
12, 1960. A writer and regular performer on TV's live Your Show of
Shows (1950-1954), Caesar (1922-2014), born in Yonkers, New York,
hosted a series of shows bearing his name for another decade. He earned an
Emmy Award for Best Actor in 1952, and the following year Caesar and
Imogene Coca were voted Best Comedy Team in a poll by "Motion Picture
Daily". Caesar's autobiography, Where Have I Been? (1979), documents his
subsequent struggles with pills and alcohol, but he has continued to appear in
cameo roles in films, such as Vegas Vacation (1997). Caesar, who was
nominated for a Tony Award for Best Actor (Musical) in 1963 for Little
Me, is also a composer and saxophonist. Staple holes in upper left corner,
