Biography
Abbe Lane (b. 1932) was best known as a sexy singer of Latin music, a style she perfected while married (1952-1964) to Xavier Cugat, the Cuban "rumba king". The fiery redhead, who made occasional film and frequent TV guest appearances, once quipped: "Jayne Mansfield may turn the boys into men, but I take it from there."
