James "Johnnie" Johnson (1915-2001, born in Barrow upon Soar, Leicestershire, England) was a Royal Air Force pilot in Britain. Originally rejected from the Air Force due to a rugby injury, he became the top scoring British ace of World War II, with 38 confirmed Luftwaffe kills.
