Alan Baxter (1908-1976) often played sinister roles in a film career of 35 years. He is perhaps best remembered as the Nazi spy at the Hoover Dam in Hitchcock's Saboteur (1942). He played Jesse James in Bad Men of Missouri (1941) and a mobster fixing prize fights in his last feature film, The Set-Up (1949), but was seen on stage and in TV guest spots through 1971.
