Biography
Alfred Lord Tennyson (1809-1892), is an English poet, wrote the elegy, In Memoriam, which became a favorite of Queen Victoria, who appointed Tennyson as Poet Laureate the same year. Tennyson's works also include historical dramas, such as Queen Mary (1875), Harold (1876) and Becket (1884), the lyric poems, Morte d'Arthur (1842) and Charge of the Light Brigade (1855), and his epic, The Idylls of the King.
