Polish-born, British-educated Andrew Schally, working at the U.S. Veterans Administration Hospital Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, shared the 1977 Nobel Prize in Medicine with Roger Guillemin for their discoveries concerning the peptide hormone production of the brain.
