Anne Bancroft (1931-2005) won the 1958 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Drama, Featured or Supporting in Two for the Seesaw and the 1960 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Drama for her portrayal of Anne Sullivan in The Miracle Worker. Reprising her role in the film version of The Miracle Worker, she won the 1963 Academy Award for Best Actress. Bancroft was also nominated for Academy Awards for Best Actress in 1965 (The Pumpkin Eater), 1968 (Mrs. Robinson in The Graduate), 1978 (The Turning Point) and 1986 (Agnes of God). She was nominated for the 1978 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play for her performance as Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir in Golda. Nominated for six Emmys, Bancroft won the 1970 Emmy Award for Outstanding Variety or Musical Performance for her performance in Annie, the Women in the Life of a Man and the 1999 Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie (Deep In My Heart). She was nominated in 2003 for her role as Contessa in The Roman Spring of Mrs. Stone, her last acting performance. Her last role was as the voice of Sedessa in the 2005 animated fantasy, Delgo, costarring (voices) Freddie Prinze, Jr., Val Kilmer, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Chris Kattan, Lou Gossett, Jr., Eric Idle and Kelly Ripa. Oscar, Tony and Emmy Award winner Anne Bancroft and Oscar, Tony, Emmy and Grammy Award winner Mel Brooks were married from 1964 until her death.
