Biography
Arthur "Skeets" Herfurt (1911-1992) was a jazz sax and clarinet player who performed with the Dorsey Brothers (together and individually, 1934-1939). He was also heard with the bands of Ray Noble, Alvino Rey, and - after service in World War II - with Benny Goodman. As a Hollywood studio musician, he played with Louis Armstrong, Billy May, Stan Kenton and others, and he was a member of Lawrence Welk's TV Orchestra (1979-1982).
