Biography
Joseph P. Bradley (1813-1892), appointed by President Ulysses S. Grant to the Supreme Court in 1870, served on the 1877 Electoral Commission created to decide the outcome of the disputed 1876 presidential election; his vote made Rutherford B. Hayes the President.He served as an Associate Justice on the Supreme Court until his death.
