Billie Dove (1901-1997), born Lillian Bohney, made her film debut in 1921's Get Rich Quick Wallingford. She made over 40 films before retiring from the screen in 1932, including The Black Pirate (1927) and American Beauty (1927), the name by which she was called during the apex of her stage and screen career.
