Billie Whitelaw (1932-2014), is an English actress of stage, TV and film. Whitelaw entered show business at 11 on the radio and debuted on the stage in 1950. She made her first TV appearance in The Secret Garden in 1952 and on the silver screen in The Fake (1953) and has gone on to appear in almost 100 movies and TV shows. Whitelaw is best known for her performances as neurotic, single-purpose women in such movies as Charlie Bubbles (1968) and The Krays (1990). Jim Henson fans may recognize Whitelaw's voice as that of the astrologer Aughra in The Dark Crystal (1982).
