Brian Bedford (1935-2016) won a 1971 Tony Award for his performance in The School for Wives (1971). Primarily a stage actor, Bedford has appeared in 17 plays on Broadway between 1959 and 2003, with a marked tendency to show up in English versions of Molière plays, including The Misanthrope (1969 and 1983), The School for Wives, The Molière Comedies (a double bill of The Imaginary Cuckold and The School for Husbands, 1995) and Tartuffe (2003), and in Shakesperean roles. He's also appeared in almost 30 movies and TV shows, with repeat appearances on Coronet Blues (1967) and The Equalizer (1985-1989). Disney fans may recognize his voice in title role of the animated movie Robin Hood (1973).
