Brooks & Dunn, a renowned American country music duo, was formed in 1990 by singers Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn. Both members, having pursued solo careers prior to their partnership, combined their talents to become one of the most successful acts in country music history.

Kix Brooks, born on May 12, 1955, in Shreveport, Louisiana, and Ronnie Dunn, born on June 1, 1953, in Coleman, Texas, were both seasoned musicians when they teamed up. Their partnership was suggested by record executive Tim DuBois. After joining forces, Brooks & Dunn released their first album, "Brand New Man," in 1991, which was a critical and commercial success. The album produced several hit singles, including "Boot Scootin' Boogie," which became a line-dancing anthem and played a significant role in popularizing country music in the 1990s.

Over the years, Brooks & Dunn have released numerous albums and chart-topping singles, making them one of the most recognizable duos in country music. Their style blends traditional honky-tonk and mainstream country with rock elements, creating a distinctive sound that has appealed to a broad audience. Some of their most notable hits include "My Maria," "Red Dirt Road," and "Only in America."

Brooks & Dunn have received a plethora of awards throughout their career, including multiple Country Music Association (CMA) and Academy of Country Music (ACM) awards. They were also honored with a Grammy Award, further solidifying their status in the music industry.

In 2009, the duo announced their retirement as a group and embarked on a farewell tour. However, they reunited in 2015 for a series of concerts with singer Reba McEntire in Las Vegas. This comeback was well-received by fans, leading to more performances and collaborations in the following years.
