Biography
American golfer BYRON NELSON (1912-2006) was called a "mechanical" golfer because his play was so consistent. Nelson, who won the Masters in 1937 and 1942, the U.S. Open in 1939 and the PGA Championship in 1940 and 1945, won a record 11 consecutive golf tournaments in 1945. He was elected to the PGA Hall of Fame in 1953 and the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1974.
