Biography
Charles Korvin (1907-1998, born Geza Korvin Karpathi in Piestany, Austria-Hungary, now Slovakia) was an actor with almost 40 movies and TV shows to his credit between 1944 and 1993, with most of these before 1966. Korvin held down a number of show business jobs in Europe before debuting on the American silver screen in the title role of Enter Arsene Lupin (1944). Korvin's accent handicapped him, and he suffered from being typecast in B-movies as charming rogues - not to mention being blacklisted by the House Un-American Activities Committee. He spent the 1960s on in character roles, but not before one memorable - and un-credited - appearance as a mambo instructor on the 1956 episode of The Honeymooners entitled Mama Loves Mambo.
