Biography
Clint Black, born Clint Patrick Black in Long Branch, New Jersey in 1962, became the first male country singer in 15 years to top the charts with his first single A Better Man. His debut album went gold in six months, and he won six awards from the Academy of Country Music, including Best Album and Best Male Vocalist, in 1990. Black, who was hot in the 1990s and remains popular in the new millennium, combines a traditional approach to country music with an appeal to pop audiences. His hit with Wynonna Judd, A Bad Goodbye, which won a Grammy for Best Country Duet, appeared on his 1993 album, No Time to Kill. Black, who has sold several albums worldwide, has been married to actress Lisa Hartman since 1991.
