Biography
Colin Watson (b. 1899) was one of the sport's earliest stars, active from the late 1920s. From 1930 to 1938, he starred in team competition for the Wembley Lions, winners of consecutive league championships from 1930 to 1932. He captained the English team against Australia from 1931 to 1934. His racing career ended with a fractured skull and punctured lung in a 1946 race, regaining consciousness four weeks later. Later he ran a car rental business in his home town of Ilford.
