Biography
Dale Evans (1912-2001), born Frances Octavia Smith, who would become known as the "Queen of the West", started her career as a singer on radio and in nightclubs. After moving to Hollywood, she found few roles at the major studios, but became a Western star with Republic Studios, often cast with singing cowboy Roy Rogers.
