Biography
Dan Dailey (1917-1978) moved from vaudeville to Broadway (Babes in Arms, 1937) to Hollywood. Recipient of a Best Actor Oscar nomination for When My Baby Smiles at Me (1948), he also appeared in such films as Meet Me at the Fair (1952), The Pride of St. Louis (as pitcher Dizzy Dean, 1952) and It's Always Fair Weather (1955). Dailey also appeared on television in such series as The Governor and J.J. (1969).
