Biography
Dixie Dunbar (1919-1991) starred in Broadway and film musicals (Pigskin Parade, Alexander's Ragtime Band) of the late 1930s, preferring the stage in the 1940s. Born Christina, the Atlanta-born Dunbar quickly earned the moniker Dixie in New York. Later a nightclub enteretainer, she was the dancing Old Gold cigarette pack in TV commercials (1949-1951), with only her legs visible.
