Biography
Dolores Gray (1924-2002, born in Chicago, Illinois) was a Tony-winning actress of stage, TV and movies. Rudy Vallee discovered Gray singing in Hollywood supper clubs and featured her on his radio show before her move to Broadway. Most of Gray's experience was on the stage, with a total of eight appearances in Broadway musicals, including a Tony-winning performance as Cornelia in Carnival in Flanders (1953). Gray also appeared as Annie Oakley in the 1947 London production of Annie Get Your Gun. Gray had a few movie appearances - again, mostly in musicals, including a role opposite Gene Kelly in It's Always Fair Weather (1955), Lalume in Kismet (1955) and Sylvia in The Opposite Sex (1956).
