Don Durant (1932-2005) starred as TV Sheriff Johnny Ringo (1959-1960). Formerly a featured singer with Tommy Dorsey's Orchestra, Durant wrote and performed his own theme song. An accomplished horseman and marksman, Durant was a natural for guest appearances on TV Westerns of the late 1950s, including multiple visits to Sergeant Preston of the Yukon and to Wagon Train. Other acting roles included a Twilight Zone episode and a starring role in the feature film She-Gods of Shark Reef (1958). Before acting and still in high school, Durant hosted his own radio program on KPRO in Riverside, California, signed with CBS and became a regular on shows like The Jack Benny Program, The Red Skelton Show and Shower of Stars (1950-1954) - he also played the Sands and Sahara in Las Vegas, headlined at the Hollywood Bowl and the Macomba nightclub.
